My brothers are cooking tonight with my mom's input on her deliciously ethnic Dumplings and Pork. It's one of her great old Bohemian recipes we grew up with--but never make ourselves! What's a family favorite of yours? — with James Denz.

My Mom also fondly remembers her mother's delicious roast duck with stuffing made from crushed saltine crackers. Pamela Smith SpahnJona, I've never even actually tried it. I was very young when my grandmother used to make it. It had raisins in it and I didn't like raisins, so that was that. But she also made the most delicious cinnamon buns at the same time. Those I devoured!

Bummer--no radio show today for me. 'Looks like I picked up the bug my son, Chris is getting over. I'm thinking that it's pretty mild, maybe because of our flu shots (?)... but I just want to sleep-in under about 5 blankets!
Can you imagine having someone you know IN the Super Bowl? It's got to feel like a dream for Jack & Jackie Harbaugh, who'll will be watching their sons coach the Super Bowl, Jim for the 49ers and John for the Falcons.

The reviewer at the Mercury News may have been the only one of the 13,000 fans at LADY GAGA'S show last night that was unimpressed. His article sure set off a tirade of FB comments! I love performers who connect with the audience. Isn't that what makes a concert a great experience?
It's scary being told you need more tests after getting a mammogram. (My mom's a survivor.) I only had to worry for a day, thanks to the speedy scheduling by the great folks at Samaritan Breast Care Center--THANKS! Have YOU ever gotten a scare like that?
