We have another South Bay boy to root for as a rising star! Gilroy's Austin Corini is a Junior at Christopher High, and got yeses from all four X-Factor judges at his audition. Do you think his Cute-Factor will influence votes?
Judy Dallojacono ReedI saw him audition tonight! So nice to see someone local! His voice is great and he has lots of potential (in addition to his"Cute-Factor" of course)! :)
Andy Williams' Christmas show in Branson will have to go on without him this year. Sadly, his fight with bladder cancer ended this morning. He was 84, and never retired! Is it crazy to dream of working forever?
What say we kick off your SPOOKY SEASON this weekend! Join me for games, prizes, and more...this Sunday At SWANK FARMS in Hollister.
Can you believe this maze??
'Just one of Swank's fun features!
See you Sunday 11am-1pm!
They say once you have children, you're a parent for life. I know this is one of life's most solid facts by looking at my mom, who still frets when one of us kids doesn't show up when we say we will--even 10 minutes late.
So my son left his cell phone at home yesterday before his night class. I realized it 10 minutes before he was supposed to be home--and I admit that there was a bit of fret-anxiety. Luckily he didn't need to use a payphone--cuz they're all GONE! What do you miss about payphones?
Noreen Helvietheyre gd for emergencies in case u leave ur cell
Jeff WheelerThe thing I miss about the payphones is the payphones. They are often cheaper then your own cellphone call, and the signal NEVER drops out or is vulnerable to a dead zone. Phone companies just don't want you to have a cheaper, better option.
Don WestClark Kent has to undress in a Winnebago now.....
Dave GlovinI miss the ones that were lowered for people in wheelchairs. When I was a patrol supervisor back when cellphones were like carrying a brick, I could pull up to one and make a call without getting out of the cruiser!
Jeff FancherYes Don, and think of all the homeless people now that won't find free clothes in a phone booth. I never did see Superman carry a bag with his clothes in it. That must've been expensive.
Don WestShhhh. Suspension of disbelief. I think the Silver Age era of Superman comics explained he had a "secret pouch" in his cape for Clark's clothes. Um, yeah, the dress shirt, tie, slacks, sport coat....no problem. Size 12 Wing Tips (that somehow fit over Superman's boots? Must be some interesting Big & Tall clothing shops on Krypton).
Do the last three months seem like a blur? Getting through my son's graduation was the first hurdle, the summer happened! And now there are only 3 days left of your Summer 2012. Man! I only took 2 days off--maybe that's why I'm tired!!
Summer fading away...does that make you feel a little sad? How do you hang onto summer --or celebrate autumn?
Marie Therese Theriault-Ortiz(sigh) I feel like that pirate in the comics who'll do whatever he can to stop Summer from ending..... Stacy Kathryn Smithme too Marie, me too! Always get a little bummed when Sept. comes to a close cuz I know winter is around the corner! Blecccchhhhhhhhh!! John Hamilton LohnesI love all the seasons, sorry to see summer go, but I look forward to autumn! Dee Douglasi am so ready for winter snow! Ted KopulosAutumn's my favorite season. Ofelia Pena McCainHope the skunks leave that lawn alone. Jona Denz-Hamilton toOfelia Pena McCain: I know! Last time we redid a lawn, the raccoons yanked up almost all the edges of the sod--until I covered it with chicken wire! Jona Denz-HamiltonI will NOT buy any Christmas decorations in September! My childhood friend, Mary Jeanne's son loved to help others, but suicide cut his beautiful life short. It tears me up to realize this tragedy...but in Jakes's name, you can help raise awareness of the warning signs.
Help light the way!!
Join the OUT OF THE DARKNESS walk this Sunday at Lake Merced!
Jona Denz-Hamilton to Mary Jeanne Miller: I hope my post gets the word to a few folks who can participate. Here's to the $$ goal being met this year--and saving some beautiful lives.
Jennifer CalhounMy nephew committed suicide. It is sad that a person gets to this point and instead of reaching for help they take their life thinking it was the only route to go!

Gina Trujillo-RossanI am sooooo sorry for your loss, it was nice chatting with you today! : )!
Dee DouglasI'm sorry for your loss, Jona. People do not realize how fragile people can become. It is so important for the word to get out about this 'taboo' subject. Thank you for participating in it. Is there some way I can make a donation since I am not there?
Jona Denz-Hamilton to Dee Douglas: Please click on Mary Jeanne's link by her little picture of people in the park--above.
Dee Douglasok, thanks :) and thanks for being there for my sister when she needed someone to keep her afloat. because of you knowing what to do, she is alive today, thirty years later! I shared the link as well.
It took two months of intense organizing what would have been an awesome birthday party for my radio friend, Dennis Netto. He would have been 63 last Thursday, but instead, we commemorated the passing of an incredible talent that exited the studio far too young.
About a hundred friends, family, and fans showed up for my radio friend Dennis's Celebration of Life yesterday. Our final tribute of the afternoon was a wave goodbye from his former co-workers who remained friends over the years. — with Loren Charles and 17 others.
