I have been laughing about this all morning.
Snooki’s tips to Kim Kardashian for when she has her baby.
#1.) "If your face isn't already made up when your water breaks, you have plenty of time to do it in the hospital when you're waiting to dilate.  I waited 27 hours and the whole time I just put on makeup and watched cartoons."

#2.)  "Keep an extra pair of eyelashes in your purse just in case your water breaks when you're not at home.  Or just do what I did and bring a whole box."

#3.)  "Bring your own hospital gown because hospital gowns at the hospital are ugly."

#4.)  "Accessorize.  Make sure you stay away from the big hoop earrings because it can get caught in your extensions . . .

--"And also if you want to bring a nice, pretty scarf, because trust me you're gonna get bloated and you're gonna have a million double chins.  So cover that [crap] up."

#5.)  "Get a pedicure at least a week before your due date . . . you always want your feet to be nice and pretty when you give birth . . . Your feet are literally in the air for everyone to see."

#6.)  "Make sure your mascara is water proof because you're going to cry from the pain of having a baby  and also when you meet your baby for the first time."

See what I mean…too darn funny!!!!  And even funnier…she probably means all of this!!!

And the happiest place in America is……..?
Yes, Disneyland for me and maybe you…but according to new rankings based on well being…the happiest place to live is Lincoln, Nebraska. And then comes Boulder Colorado where there’s unlimited marijuana…and then Burlington Vermont where there’s plenty of maple syrup and teddy bears.
The rest of the top ten are  Provo, Utah . . . Fort Collins, Colorado . . . Barnstable Town, Massachusetts . . . Honolulu, Hawaii . . . Ann Arbor, Michigan . . . Washington, D.C. . . . and San Luis Obispo.  I’ll second SLO!!! Now that my girls are done with Cal Poly, I so miss going there.
Oh…and the unhappiest place to live…Charleston, West Virginia.  It finished just below Huntington, West Virginia . . . Mobile, Alabama . . . Beaumont, Texas . . . and Hickory, North Carolina.

We didn’t make any list…but I wouldn’t trade living here for the world!!! What about you?

Since we all live in an office world of cubicles….we talked Cubicle Etiquette this morning. Here’s the short list of “crimes of the cubicle”.
Maybe you can glue it to a piece of cardboard and post.  You might want to check with H-R first..LOL!!

Personal Grooming: Filing and clipping your nails, flossing your teeth, brushing your hair  please just stop right now! If you wouldn't do it in front of your boss, don't do it in front of your co-workers!

Excessive Decorating: Every holiday does not need to be celebrated as big and as bold as possible. Your cubicle is not a Hallmark store. Keep it simple and professional.

Taking off your shoes: If your shoes are uncomfortable, don't wear them to work! Taking off your shoes is rude and tacky. Wait until you get home, please.

Checking your dating profile: Bad idea – especially if your surfing habits are monitored ... which they probably are. And do you really want your nosy cube mate to know about your personal life?

Accumulating old food: Throw out your old coffee cups and leftover lunch containers – they are really gross. Unless you work in a lab and are conducting some kind of experiment, no one wants to be subjected to your moldy latte leftovers from a week ago!

Swearing: Be wary of who is around you. Not everyone is comfortable with your sailor speak, and it comes off as immature and unprofessional.

There you have it….What needs to be added?

One thing is clear after this morning…the only part time parent is literally the part time parent…the Mom or Dad who sees his or her kids on weekends and special occasions. Couldn’t get one person to agree with the study that being a parent isn’t full time…that you spend on average 28 hours a week with your child and family.

Here’s how they broke it down…8 hours 36 minutes entertaining the kids
4 hours 48 minutes cooking. (I’ve got room to spare on that one…lots of room)
3 hours 38 minutes doing chores…
And less than 2 hours each on making beds, washing up, driving the kids to school and activities, helping with homework, running errands and taking care of pets.

We say whoever did this study get a new watch!!!!

Gotta go…pick up the dog poop now..LOL!!!

Thank goodness for the DVR!!!
How many times do we say that a month..
Tonite, you’ve got..or at least Ive got…Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season finale..followed by the reunion…Dancing with the Stars and the beginning of the Voice with the two new judges…Usher and Shakira.

For me…I’ll watch Dancing Live and the others tomorrow or the next day.

And how correct do you think this is…
The latest odds to win--Comedian and actor D-L HUGHLEY, 100-1 (longshot)
LISA VANDERPUMP ("Real Housewives of Beverly Hills") and country singer WYNONNA JUDD, both 75-1

--Comedian ANDY DICK and boxer VICTOR ORTIZ (Former WBC welterweight champ), both 50-1
--Soap star INGO RADEMACHER ("Jasper Jax" on "General Hospital") and former "Bachelor" SEAN LOWE, both 15-1
   --Figure skater DOROTHY HAMILL, 7-1
#!#!#
--Baltimore Ravens wide receiver JACOBY JONES, 5-1
--Gymnast ALY RAISMAN (captain of the US Women's team), and country singer KELLIE PICKLER, both 7-2
--ZENDAYA COLEMAN, 16-year-old actress, singer and dancer on Disney's sitcom, "Shake It Up," 2-1 (favorite)

I’m thinking they’re fairly accurate!!!!

We keep hearing about the “evils” of  Facebook. You waste too much time on it, you get way to personal, you eavesdrop or even stalk people.
But how about the re-connections you’ve been able to make, the relatives and friends you can now stay in touch with …and above all what about this? Study today that Facebook can actually  make you a happier person. Turns out most of us look at our wall posts more than anything else. We’re using Facebook to connect with our past selves…most likely when we need reassurance. Turns out Facebook is a simple way to “sooth and remember all the good times”. So next time you’re feeling down, scroll down the pictures you posted....and start smiling!!!

And speaking of Facebook…the KBAY Facebook page. Have you signed up to win the Girlfriend Getaway for 4 to Napa. If not..do it today. Friday morning at 6:20 Sam and I will announce the winner!!!

This has got to be the sweetest story of the day…
There’s a group of women in Vegas…They’re called the “Sew Girls”
And you know what they sew? Clothes for injured soldiers to wear when they’re in the hospital. They’ve customized about 4000 pieces of clothing so that soldiers don’t have to wear those horrible hospital gowns. They add Velcro seams to regular t shirts, shorts and and even underwear so that hospital workers can easily remove them.

These ladies…who remind me of the Blue Star Moms.. meet twice a month, to do their sewing.. What a wonderful thing to do….Getting to wear normal clothes has got to help improve the soldiers morale and self esteem.

Big time kudos to these women!!!

How cute is this…
Royal Mommy to be Kate Middleton has been referring to her baby as “our little grape”.
Wonder how she and William came up with that one…
It is sweet though, isn’t it?

I guess I had a nicknames for my girls Victoria and Christina  before they arrived but 20 something years later I cant remember what it was.  Shame on me !!!

But what about you….Did you nickname your baby when he or she will still in your belly? You’ve gotta share…and where did the nickname come from?.

I’m thinking Kate Middleton likes to eat grapes… I mean how else would you come up with a name like that. Although could she or William wear “fruit of the womb” underwear?

We had a few laughs over this today…the top 4 convenience store etiquette rules.
Sam is a regular…I am not but are these ever perfect!!!

#1.)  Know How to Use the Credit Card Machine.  Why is it that convenience store customers never know how to use these?.

#2.)  Don't Scratch Off Your Lottery Tickets Right Next to the Register.  You know the person… buys a ticket then scratches it off while they're still standing in line and is that because they don’t want to get the end of the line to cash it in if they win a few bucks.
And even if you're just taking up counter space and you're KIND OF in someone's way, it's still rude.

#3.)  Don't Trash the Soda Fountain Area.  If you spill something at HOME, you clean it up.  But for some reason that mentality doesn't always exist at convenience stores, because you figure someone's being PAID to do it. Which is true.  But at the very least, let an employee know there's a spill.  Or better yet, wipe it up with napkins.  Then when you're done wiping it up, throw the wet napkins in the trash.  Don't just leave them sitting on the counter.

#4.)  If It's a Gas Station, Don't Park at the Pump.  I have to confess…this has been me…and I know better. After you fill up at a gas station when it's busy, move your car to a parking space before you go inside, so someone ELSE can fill up. But on my behalf…I only do it if I see t here is no parking space to go to.

Any other ones we need to pass along?  Isn’t is true…that going into a convenience store now a days can be an experience!!!!

I’m guessing this is one of the hazards of being the daughter of a life insurance man…I read the obits every day. My Mom did it everyday for my Dad, I guess.  Now I do the same thing…and I’ve got to admit some of them make me so sad. I don’t even know these people, but I sometimes will think about their obit all day long.

But here’s an obit that can make even me smile and you too.
It was published this weekend in Mississippi. Amanda Lewis wrote it about her dad Harry Weathersby Stamps. Said he was a “ladies’ man, foodie, natty dresser and accomplished traveler. Talked about how he despised phonies, know it all Yankees, Southerners who used the words “veranda” and “porte cochere” to put on airs, all Law and Order TV franchises, cats and Martha Stewart. Said he hated daylight saving time, which he called Devils Time and added that the family doesn’t believe it was a coincidence that he died just before he would have had to turn his clock ahead.
His obit, BTW, has gone viral. Amanda sad her Dad wouldn’t have known what that meant, and would have probably thought he’d gotten some disease.

Now there’s an obit!!!

Anyone know what Chris Harrison did before he became the host of Bachelor and Bachelorette? He’s a handsome guy…but I have to admit there is something about him I don’t like.Wasn't it Vienna who accused of him of “fooling around” with some of the  girls on the show. A few weeks later he and his wife seperated. Anyway…he’s a big deal now. He’s got his own clothing line…said the suit he wore Monday night is part of it. It’s the Chris Harrison Collectiom by DaVinci…suits, ties and casual wear. You interested?

And are you interested in this….
I know I am….
Nashville the show…which I absolutely love…. may go on tour. Glee did this right?
Connie Britton who is Rayna and Hayden Panettiere who’s Juliette wouldn’t be included..but the people who play Deacon, Gunnar, Scarlett and Avery would.. Still in the “vague stages”, but would you go?  I think it’s amazing how well these actors sing…especially Connie and Hayden. They sound like the real deal to me!!!

Here’s the truth about lying…
Men do it three times more often than women.
But feel less guilty about it.

The top lies men tell:
Yes, I’ve done that.
I didn’t have a cell phone signal.
I’m on my way.
I didn’t see that you called or text.
I don’t look at other women.

The top lies women tell:
I’m fine.
I’m on my way.
It was on sale.
You look really nice.
I didn’t have a cell phone signal..

Did I hit a nerve?..LOL!
I’m guilty of at least 3 of those. And you?

I backed away from the Bachelor and Bachelorette for good the season of Jake Pavelka. Who did he give the rose to again? Never mind!!!!

But I know it’s a big deal tonite at 8 when Bachelor Sean Lowe picks  either Catherine or Lindsay…even though you all wanted Ashley. See I do read your posts!!!!LOL

And after a drop in the ratings, Bachelor Sean has pulled in the viewers again this season.
Why? You tell me?

And see if this rings true. Saw this online this morning…the 5 reasons why America will watch to see who gets the final rose?

  1. “We love a good montage” Apparently lots of shirtless shots of Sean are coming tonite.
  2. “We seriously love reality TV and love poking fun at ourselves for it.” Seriously, that’s why I should be watching”
  3. “We know its not about winning, but you play the game” The show has just a 12% success rate in getting a couple to the alter.
  4. “We love to hate the Villain”—Have no idea who it is this season…
  5. “We do believe in Love”—OK..maybe I should start watching again!!!

Coming up to wedding season!!! Victoria is getting married in just a little more than 6 weeks.I can’t believe it and yes I am so excited. She’s marrying her first love, she’s never been happier and he is the son in law of every Mom’s dream!!! Could not be more wonderful.
And I wasn’t surprised to see this morning that Victoria is far from average. (as if I didn’t know) Read these wedding stats…and see if your daughter or even you falls under the category of “average”.

Five facts about the average wedding . . . according to a survey of 17,500 brides by TheKnot.com and WeddingChannel.com:

#1.)  It costs $28,427 . . . not including the honeymoon.  That's $1,406 more than last year.  If you're getting married in Manhattan, plan on spending about THREE times that much.  In Alaska, it's only about $15,000.
#2.)  There are 139 guests.  Utah has the biggest weddings . . . with an average of 209 guests.  Nevada has the fewest, at 64.  The reception catering costs $63 per guest.
#3.)  There are usually four or five bridesmaids, and the same number of groomsmen.
#4.)  The bride is 29 years old . . . and the groom is 31.  Brides in Hawaii are the oldest, at 33.  And Utah has the youngest brides, at 25.
#5.)  The average couple has been engaged for 14 months.

SO…does “average” run in your family? The closest to average for Victoria…is the age. Shes 28. Hes 29. And by the time they get married, they will have been engaged for one full year.
And we’ll leave it at that…LOL!!!

I knew there was a reason I take a look at my daughters Cosmopolitan every month…
Other than the fact that she never changed the address, even though she hasn’t lived with me for years.
I saw this yesterday…and I like it. You may like it too. In fact you can pass this advice along.
Squeezing into tight jeans is not a good thing!!!
You can end up compressing the nerve that runs down the front of your thigh, causing tingling and numbness to occur.
Solution…Exhale, own your size and love it!!!!

I love that solution….Exhale, own your size and love it!!!
How many times a day can you use that…LOL!!!

You a Sting fan?
In June, he will be performing in San Francisco at the New Americas Cup Arena…
And tomorrow morning at 7:10…someone will be getting 2 front row tickets. Could be you..Step One…sign up right now at KBAY.Com!!!

You know me- always dieting- always trying to lose 3 pounds…
But I don’t do fad diets unless you say South Beach is one!!!.

This new fad diet is crazy. Tell me how you think this could work? It’s from England….the Fast Diet. You eat everything you want for five days… and then almost nothing for two. The Dr. who came up with this and claims to have lost 20 pounds in nine ways…says switching from heavy eating to fasting immediately takes your body into hardcore fat burning mode.

So you can eat all the pizza and ice cream you want for 5 days and then go down to 600 calories on days 6 and 7.
You try it first..LOL…Let me know how it works for you!!!http://www.facebook.com/SamVanZandtKBAY

I’ve been sitting on this study for a while!! (bad choice of words)
The study that women weigh more now because they do less housework.
We have indeed gotten fatter the last few years. You could blame processed foods, fast food and large portion sizes…but a new study says women are heavier because theyre not doing as much housework as they used to.

So 50 years ago….women spent almost 26 hours a week dusting and mopping their houses, which also doesn’t make sense to me because back then homes were half the size they are today. But by 2010, that dropped to 13 hours a week. In 45 years, the average housewife has gained 22 points. And that’s typically while working full time, and raising kids.

I refuse to accept this….because one its totally sexist..and two…more women work out now…
But what about you….does this offend you…or is there some truth to it?
And just how many hours a week do you spend doing housework.  I refuse to answer that question…LOL

4 ways to make Monday’s better (if that’s possible)
I know I’m a little late to salvage today but save these for next Monday.

#1.)  Dress Up. Wearing your best outfit makes you more confident.  And just looking like you're ready for work tends to make you FEEL more ready for work.

#2.)  Do Something Nice for Someone.  Or do something nice for the whole office, like bringing donuts to work.  Research has shown that one of the best ways to improve your mood is to make someone ELSE happy.

#3.)  Prepare for Monday on Friday.  If there's something at work that you dread doing on Mondays, get a head start on Friday if you can.
Not only will you lighten your workload for Monday, you’ll feel better over the weekend knowing part of your Monday is done.

#4.)  Make a List of Things You're Excited for This Week.  Doesn’t have to involve work at all. Just write down three things you're looking forward to . . . like your favorite TV show, or having drinks with friends.

Or do what Shane did this morning. He called in on his way to a charity golf fundraiser. Said he called in sick…But his boss heard and called him to make a $100 donation for his tournament which is raising money to fight diabetes. How about that!!!!

More stats that will make you feel average, above average or below average.

The average person goes to bed at 11:15 pm and wakes up at 5:50am. So that’s just 6 hours and 35 minutes of sleep a night.
40 percent of people less than 6 hours of sleep per night.

This is the number that surprised me…
Every American knows on average 600 people.
Wow…that’s enough people to fill over Boeing 787s…
But…we know just 10-25 people well enough to trust them.
Now that seems like a correct number..

And what is todays number  1 March First.
Where did January and February go?
Happy weekend!!!!
