I don’t even look to see what they are. Shame on me!!!!
And how do you know Halloween is right around the corner? There is a Halloween store on every street corner and in every empty storefront!!!
SO mixing politics and Halloween right now….here is the story of Presidential Halloween masks. In the past four elections, presidential candidate Halloween mask sales have correctly predicted the election. Clinton outsold Dole, Bush outsold Gore and Kerry, and Obama outsold McCain.
Should I tell you who is outselling who for this election? BuyCostumes.com and Spirit Halloween Stores both say Obama masks are significantly outselling Romney masks.
Buy Costumes says by 28% more, and Spirit has Obama at 38% more.
Any favorite new shows yet? I actually haven’t watched any new ones yet….just my repeat favorites. Although I’m looking forward to 666 Park Avenue which is taking the Desperate Housewives time zone.
So far this week, big ratings for NCIS, NCIS LA…The Voice, Dancing with the Stars and the new one Vegas on CBS…In fact, 15 million watched that first night. Dennis Quaid is the star. Worried about my Parenthood and Private Practice which both go up against it…as this could end up in their cancellation. Hope not..especially for Parenthood. I so love that show...
But what about you? What new shows are you liking?. You know me and TV…I’m always up for a good tip. LOL
Are you watching Katie? I set up a season pass, but unlike Oprah..I don’t feel like I need to watch most of her shows. She hasn’t grabbed me yet. Saw some of the Sofia Vergara interview though...Absolutely love her…She seems like such a real-nice person..
Liked her story that when she first came to Hollywood…her publicist wanted her to reduce her boobies. Said she might get more roles if she went down from a 32F. Her Mom wouldn’t let her…said most women were desperate to be just like her…and now Sofia says “Thank God for what he has given me…and I take advantage of it” That she does!!!!

The Canadian broadcaster who blogged that he likes his older son better than his younger one…Titled the post “Admit it, you have a favorite”.
Lots of people accused him of being insensitive to his children, especially since they might grow up and read the post later on. What happens then, they asked?
It so reminded me of my girls…They often pull me aside..and say to me “you love me the most, right”? And I always tell them both the same thing …of course”…and we then start cracking up….
The guy did clarify… He said “I don’t love either of my sons any more than the other, but I do like them differently. One can do more things, and is more fun”.
Still can’t get over how the year is racing by…3 months till Xmas…
58 days till Thanksgiving….36 days till Halloween. Have yet to walk into a costume shop though….unless the party store I went into Saturday counts LOL!! I’ve been wearing the same clown outfit for years…which I will probably do again when Sam and I do our show from Happy Hollow for “Haunt the Hollow”.

Power Rangers (always good) Monster High, Zombies, Jake the Dog, Ted and my favorite a Hunger Games costume. That one is good!!!

Talking comfort food this morning…Isn’t that what fall is all about?
But how about foods that just cheer you up…no matter what the season?
Cosmopolitan actually had a list….yes…Cosmo!!!
Foods to cheer you up: Dark Chocolate, Salmon, Spinach, Chicken, Tofu, Avocado, Greek Yogurt, Green Tea, Berries. What kind of a list is that? Dark Chocolate is all that does it for me… Put pizza on there…LOL!!! What would you add?

And they say the hospital industry hires this time of year…lodges, ski resorts, and hotels…Delivery services too like Fed-x, UPS even the Post Office.
Fall means pumpkin spice lattes and FOOTBALL!!!!
Sam and I this morning had the list of 5 of the worst things you can eat while watching the game on TV…because goodness knows if you go to a football game, you’ll certainly be eating fine faire..LOL!!!
#1.) Pulled Pork Sandwich. The reason they're so good is because the pork is usually REALLY fatty.
--A CHILI DOG is actually better for you . . . even though the hot dog has fat . . . because the beans help fill you up more than pulled-pork-on-bread does. Plus, chili usually has at least SOME vegetables in it.
#2.) Bratwurst. A hot dog is healthier, but mostly just because it's smaller. An average bratwurst has 260 calories and 21 grams of fat, while a hot dog has 150 calories and 14 grams of fat.
--Sausages also tend to have more SATURATED fat than hot dogs, which is bad for your cholesterol.
#3.) Bean Dip. It's usually made with cheese, which adds extra calories and fat. So guacamole is better, because it has HEALTHY fat.
--But you have to be careful about the pre-made guacamole they sell at grocery stores, because sometimes it's made with a bunch of sour cream.
#4.) Artichoke Dip. Again, the cheese is what makes it bad for you, and two tablespoons can have 150 calories. Compare that to French Onion dip, which has about 60.
#5.) Margaritas. Because of all the sugar, one big margarita can easily be 500 calories. So pretty much ANY drink is better than that. Most beers have between 100 and 150 calories.

We have a first ever walk for San Jose…and I’m so proud to be part of it.
It’s San Joses first National Disorder Awareness Walk…starts at 10 and will be a short one…less than a mile through Plaza de Cesar Chavez. I’m the emcee but Tracey Gold who was in Growing Pains and the movie Starving Secrets is the special guest.
As a Mom of 2 daughters…this is an issue near and dear to my heart…although it’s not just girls who suffer….boys, men and women….24 million people in all suffer but few get help..whether it be due to stigma, shame, denial..or just a lack of awareness.
Come on out..Get some family and friends to come with you. Same day registration starts at 9:30…but come even if you cant do the walk…or don’t have money to register. Its an important cause..and it will be a great morning. If you want more info.. SJNEDAWalk.org

My favorite story of them all though is the 69 year old guy who dies at home in Carson City. While readying the house for sale..a realtor had someone in cleaning who happened to find $7 million dollars in gold coins. A distant cousin in San Rafael will soon be buying a new house, a new car, a new iPhone and a new Coach bag!!! Lucky her!!!
So what was wrong with me, everyone is asking…that could keep me in the hospital for 6 days? And I can’t tell you exactly…I know it started as bleeding gastrointestinal…then diverticulitis and then colitis. And at one point they were talking about removing part of my intestines. Sorry you asked, right? Sorry I lived through it!!!
And I’m not done yet. I’m taking some heavy duty antibiotics for another week.
All I can say is having a baby is a much happier reason to go to the hospital… And the next time I go to a hospital, I hope its because one of my daughters is having a child.
Although I’m not in any rush for that either..LOL!!!
I need to get them married first....although that day will be coming next year for Victoria
Hope if you’ve ever had to take as much time off as I did…6 days is a lot for me.

New Idol gossip….the latest rumor is that Enrique Iglesias is in talks to replace Randy Jackson at the Judges table. Maybe while on tour with Jennifer Lopez, she told him to go after it. Look what it did to her career!!! Still just one judge..Mariah Carey and they start auditions in New York in less than 2 weeks. They’d better start signing some people!!!
I’m actually excited about the X-Factor. Didn’t like it last season but I do want to see Brittney Spears and how she handles herself. Simon Cowell said its true she did walkout on day one of the auditions…but not because she had to go to the bathroom. She wanted to quit. She was having a panic attack and he talked her out of it..or maybe the 15 million dollars did!!! It goes up next week against the Voice but I saw a poll today that X Factor..not the Voice has all the excitement and interest right now.
But speaking of the Voice, Cee Lo Green is working on a sitcom based on his personal life and how he balances show biz with family. I didn’t even know he had family other than his cat.LOL!!! Weird…I don’t know anything personal about him other than he’s big and seems like a friendly good guy.
Afraid to ask but how much more 50 Shades can you take?
I have yet to read the books and probably won’t. Just have no desire to!!!
But I know I stand alone. The first three books in the series have been on the NY Times bestseller list for 25 weeks…They’ve sold more than 25 million copies, worth $145 million dollars.. And guess what..or maybe you already knew…E-L James is working on a 4th book….plus there’s the Hollywood movie…starring I hope Ryan Gosling…and
Now Barnes and Nobel is selling a magazine based on the books. It’s called “50 shades of American Women Who Love the Book and Live the Life”. OMG!!!!
SO what’s in this magazine that is only 82 pages?
And with few ads I hear!!
There’s a review of “20 books even steamier than Shades”
And 50 women from around the country are also profiled telling their “real” stories of why they connect with the books and how they’ve changed their lives. There are also tips for 50 ways to “release your inner goodess”

I get teased a lot for liking the Kardashians. Typical family? No!!! but they are a family and I love watching their adventures and I especially love watching them interact.
And I love Jessica Simpson. Always have. I think she is about as real as they come. I loved her when she and Nick Lachey were on the “Newlyweds” and come on…she is one smart businesswoman. Plus she seems nice!!! LOL!
But I really just like her because she is so honest. She got huge when she was pregnant. In fact, she hasn’t revealed how much weight she gained or lost. I guess she will next week when the Weight Watcher commercials begin. Her statement though about gaining weight while pregnant was so me…and maybe you… “I let myself indulge in everything I wanted because it was the first time I was pregnant, and I wanted to enjoy it”. When I was pregnant with Victoria, I gained 8 pounds the first 3 weeks. All I did was eat. In fact I gained 50 pounds during the pregnancy. Like Jessica, “I didn’t realize the weight didn’t all come off with the baby. In fact, I had a C-section and got on the scale the next day and had lost 4 pounds..Yep..started crying.. Took me along time to get those 50 pounds off…
Did a lot of crying!!!

So while talking with Sam this morning, the light bulb went off. When you get to work, go to 4 co workers and offer to do the coffee run. They will love you for it. Insist on going no matter what. Order your 4 coffees and then get the 5th one for yourself for free!!!

And here’s another brilliant idea… I can’t take credit for this one though. But a psychologist did a study on how to get people to do what you want. He found that instead of just asking for it…you start by making an outrageous request. Like, “Can I borrow $10,000? Of course he or she will say no…so then you make the real request…. Like,
“Fine, can I borrow $20?” Of course they’ll say yes!!!!!
