Mentioning F-W Woolworth this morning sure sparked some memories…
Sam and I were guessing you’d probably have to be over 40 to remember the five and dime store…Hard to believe the guy opened his first one back in 1879….Was in Lancaster, PA… He opened up in Utica, N.Y…and actually went broke but then moved to a better location and the rest is history. Actually the company is now called Foot Locker…and Layna who is in our promotions dept. says SummerWinds Nursery used to be called Woolworths. I sort of remember!!!!
Will never ever forget my lunches at the counter with my Mom…Sam used to go with his cousin Linda.
Before you knew it this morning we were talking about other childhood memories..
Playland in SF…Frontier Village, Santa’s Village and of course Happy Hollow..
And happy to say Happy Hollow is still here…and even better than when we were kids. I love love love Happy Hollow!!!!
Even had a mention this morning for Farrells Ice Cream Parlor!!!!
Living here for ever..I so like to hear about old familiar places
So go ahead…tell me your sweet memories from way back…
Or better yet..what do you think your kids will tell their kids about..
Love stuff like this…
And you know how I love Disneyland…Tomorrow at 7:10..another chance for you to win a family vacation for 4. Make sure you’ve signed up on the KBAY Facebook Page.
