Now that the Oscar nominations are out…are you going to the movies this weekend? If so, to see what? Of the 9 movies, I know a few of them are still showing. I’ve actually seen 5 of them which is more than usual for me… Saw a story this morning that if we were voting…The Help would win….and Warhorse would come in second….The Artist, which is supposed to be the film to beat, was picked by just 3 percent of those polled.
This surprised me. Meryl Streep who is nominated again, this time for Iron Lady, has been nominated 17 times but has only won twice and not since 1983. I think we all assume she’s won a bunch of time, but instead she’s the Susan Lucci of film!!!
Have you ever gone to the movies and asked for your money back. Apparently some people did who went to see The Artist. They didn’t know it was a silent movie. What excuse have you used? And does it work. Will a movie theater refund your money? I don’t think they will unless the film breaks. Am I wrong?
