We never got free Twinkies, but it sure was cool when my dad's company, ITT bought Hostess years ago. Now Hostess is set to sell off its assets due to an unresolved strike. What GOODIE do you need to stick around?
Pat CatanzaroUm, anyone concerned the unions brought Hostess (and the beautiful Twinkie)
down? I looked for Twinkies at the local grocery store tonight. There were none to be found. I can't
imagine life without Twinkies, and I am SO PISSED the unions did 'em in. I wanted just one more, even though it is not "on my diet". Now I shall probably never have one again. I'm bummin' tonight.
Jona Denz-HamiltonKellogg's bought Mother's Cookies about a month or two after they closed down...good bet Twinkies and Ho-Ho's will return soon. Don't go buyin' em for $100 on eBay!!
Pat CatanzaroI hope so! I'm hoping someone will buy that recipe! I saw one online to make at home. I'm not sure it would be the same...... just sayin'
Jeff Wheeler@ Pat: want a Twinky? Just take any generic yellow cake mix. Make it into a 1 inch by 4 inch loaf. Inject with Cool Whip. I dare you to taste the difference. And you aren't seriously blaming the unions, are you? Since when did the unions have the power to say Hostess is not to make anymore Twinkies? I thought that was a decision only management could make.
