Ahhhh Monday! No really! It's Mountain Winery Monday. Listen at the top of the hour--
some of them will have prompts to call in to me and Dana Jang.
You'll get to have a blast at the GO-GO'S / B-52'S concert on July 9th--for FREE! 1-800-948.KBAY (5229)
BUT WAIT--THERE'S MORE...
LIONEL RICHIE has finally said yes to comin' to San Jose! Join me in the noon-hour
all this week to get yourself and a friend in to his concert--for FREE!
It may be a little early to say Happy Father's Day, but I'd like to invite you to listen to
my show on Sunday from noon until 5. I'll be dropping in cool little tid bits about the
artists and their dads. Here are some great photos of a few of thos artists:
PRINCE'S dad, John L. Nelson had the music in him too!
TAYLOR SWIFT'S dad is a financial
advisor who made move to Nashville for his daughter's career. Thanks, Dad!
"Like father, like son" really applies to Bruno Mars and his dad, Peter Hernandez, Sr.
(Bruno is Peter Jr.) Dad's the one who gave his son the stage name, Bruno!
P!NK/Alecia Moore, grew up with her insurance salesman dad, James. Lotta love!
The two PHILLIP PHILLIPSes--senior and junior at their pawn shop made semi-famous on American Idol!
MADONNA'S lucky to still have her dad! Silvio Ciccone just celebrated his 82nd b-day!
KATY PERRY likes to make her dad, Rev. Keith Hudson, her date
(or her mom or both parents)!
You don't hear much about JANIS JOPLIN'S dad, Seth, but he was her most special fan.
He called her voice "an orchestra in itself"! No doubt, she could blow away a symphony
with those vocal cords!
I'm SO glad I shared that petition with you to get the policy changed for kids to receive
lung transplants--it worked--and little Sarah is in surgery right NOW! You can follow

Veronika GarciaWhat I'm hoping is decided is that doctors are allowed to make the
call on a case by case basis. Doctors know their patients best and hopefully know
what treatment would be best.
It's such an honor to be nominated for the BAY AREA RADIO HALL OF FAME.
Two of my incredible colleagues were nominated this year two personalities that
you may know well...
One of the greats that I'm really rooting for to be inducted is long-time radio talent
and KBAY co-worker, SAM VAN ZANDT! VOTE by June 30th by clicking this link> www.bayarearadio.org/hof/2013/index.shtml PLEASE SHARE THIS.
'Hope your weekend was a goood one! Mine whoosed by, partly because I got up early
on Saturday to make a visit to my parents' cemetery. That kind of thing, I guess, can wipe
you out. So I napped away the rest of the day!
Yesterday was the official meet-up with the big Morgan Hill parade folks. If you join in the
fun this year, you'll enjoy a 137-year-old tradition! You'll see me along with Sam & Lissa
waving from our convertibles. And if you're sitting by the Monterey Street announce stand,
you'll get to hear the parade action from me and my parade pal, Donna Cowan.
I thought you'd get a chuckle out of this Ode to Mondays:
The big Morgan Hill Independence Day Parade is gearing up! 'Can't wait to see my
parade pals at our meeting this Sunday. You'll see me and Lissa Kreisler representing 94.5 KBAY waving from convertibles again this year! www.mhfreedomfest.com/
How sorry do you feel for Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina? She just moved out of her apartment after her downstairs neighbor made numerous complaints about noise. YIKES--she's got to be thinking twice now about writing this note she left for him and his wife. He posted it on his Facebook, and it went viral...
Pat SussmanShe learned her bad behavior from her parents. She already has drug problems. Hopefully history won't repeat itself...
Robert CuréI feel very sorry for her, that she wasn't taught how to behave, how to respect others. It saddens me, it is a common disease among youth of today.
Janelle CooleyI'm not sure why I would feel sorry for her. It looks like made a nuisance of herself and is bitter because she got called out for her behavior . Maybe is her parents had been actual parents she might have turned our a better person
Karin Taylor...yeah and funny how SHE was making the noise, not the neighbors - she has no right unless they we're really out of line - and then, don't you call someone else to help? Landlord, cops?
Claudia SmithAnd apparently there was a baby involved. No wonder they wanted it a bit quieter.
'Some of the fun at last Saturday's Kidney Walk--over $200,000 was raised!! That's Meg Whitman and Ann Livermore from HP, and me with the always fun rockers, The Road Dogs! — with Patrick Whitaker and Mike Davis.
Patrick WhitakerThanks for making it such a fun event, Jona! We always love talking with you about the old KOME 98.5 days too!...
Cathi NordinYou guys look great, Jona. Sorry I missed it this year; am looking forward to participating next year. This Sunday is N.A.R.F. walkathon @Los Gatos Creek.
'Not sure why I've got veggies on my mind--maybe it's guilt LOL! Which vegetable is impossible for you to love? My mom used to make saucy lima beans that I could never warm up to. Surveys usually rank Brussels sprouts and spinach as yukkiest.
Linda Ayers TarvinI really cannot think of any vegetable I do not love. Lucky me! I hated beets and spinach as a child but I love them both now. Anybody else like okra?
Genevieve RistinI used to dislike Brussels sprouts until we came up with a good recipe: cut in half, sprinkle with olive oil and salt and pepper. Roast at 400 for about 20 minutes (until tender). Then mix with crumbled bacon and either chestnuts or pine nuts. Delicious!
Jona Denz-Hamilton to Genevieve Ristin: The first part or your recipe is how we enjoy asparagus--gotta add the BACON (your Godson, Jeff might go for it then too)!
