Chicago was the beloved home of my parents (and me for awhile) but they found it sweeter here in the Bay Area. FORBES Magazine just named the MOST MISERABLE CITIES, which some argue is soooo wrong! Did you find any surprises on this list? ...

Janie Freeman Modesto isn'tthat bad. It's not as pretty as the Bay Area though.

André-Marié D. Bond Modesto is a bit shocking to see as well as Vallejo but perhaps this will hopefully give their city commerce a wake up call?

Jeff Fancher It's all about the criteria they used. And it's still very subjective. I'm not surprised by some of them. But what matters most is whether you like where you live.

Dee Douglas i am quite positive that the people who wrote the list have never been to scottsville, ky or they surely would have put us there. no jobs, businesses drying up, everyone losing or selling their homes.... it's getting pretty sad and i know few who live here who are not miserable.

Jona Denz-Hamilton to Ofelia Pena McCain: Stockton is #8 on the list. Oakland's crime rate is sad, but I think the city's other amenities kept it off the list.
